About us
The Dickson Poon School of Law at King’s College London is one of the oldest law schools in England and recognised as one of the best law schools in the world. We are based in the East Wing of Somerset House, a Grade One listed building, on our Strand Campus, a short walk from the Royal Courts of Justice and Inns of Court in the heart of legal London. Our location enables us to have excellent contacts with practitioners and policymakers, and we have a strong tradition of engagement with the legal profession.
About the role
The Dickson Poon School of Law is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Digital Law who will contribute to the teaching, research, and other academic and professional activities at The Dickson Poon School of Law.
The successful candidate may have recently completed a PhD and would like to gain further experience in a research–led teaching role and be actively involved in the administration and academic life of a thriving law school. The successful candidate’s principal teaching contribution will be in Digital Law, on our postgraduate programmes but you will be required to teach across all modes of programme delivery: on-campus, blended and online.
The post holder will assist with the development and implementation and teaching, of a new online Digital Law LLM, starting in January 2026. This programme is designed to equip legal professionals with the skills and knowledge required to navigate the rapidly evolving data-driven technologies reshaping the legal landscape.
The successful candidate will also undertake research, within The Centre for Data Futures and have a deep personal commitment to the delivery of teaching of the highest quality with a particular interest in digital law or technology and law. We are open to the candidate’s field of specialist expertise within these fields.
We embrace equality, diversity and inclusion. We attract students and staff from across the world, from many different backgrounds, with a variety of ethnicities, religions, and sexual and gender identities. We promote flexible working as a key enabler of inclusion. We particularly encourage and welcome applications from women, Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates, and from candidates who are LGBTQ+ and/or have a disability.
This is a full-time post, and you will be offered on an indefinite contract.
