We are seeking a Post-doctoral Research Assistant to work at the Centre for Human Genetics. The laboratory is developing novel therapeutics for heart disease and for Type 1 diabetes. The projects are funded by awards from Steve Morgan Foundation T1D Grand Challenge, Diabetes UK, Breakthrough-T1D and the British Heart Foundation. A key aim of this project is to develop peptidomimetics from a pan-chemokine-inhibiting tick peptide developed in the Bhattacharya laboratory. The post-holder will be encouraged and supported to apply for fellowships in the fields of peptide/peptidomimetic therapeutics to develop their independent scientific careers.
