We are looking to recruit a senior project manager to provide operational oversight and strategic leadership for the Flourishing and Wellbeing Project, part of the Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre. The post is based within the Neuroscience, Ethics and Society (NEUROSEC) Team led by Professor Ilina Singh. The NEUROSEC Team has an international reputation for its work in neuroscience ethics and psychiatric ethics and is uniquely situated within Oxford Psychiatry and Neuroscience, building collaborative research relationships with scientists, clinicians and public stakeholders, whilst maintaining a critical perspective and a portfolio of independent research projects.

The post is based in the Department of Psychiatry and is part-time (60% FTE). It is available on a flexible hybrid basis with minimum on-site in the office 2 days a week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays), in order to attend standing weekly meetings. There may be other in person meetings that the postholder would be expected to attend on their working days (taking into account this is a part-time post) on an ad-hoc basis.

The post is for a fixed term (funded for 2 years).

You will lead on strategy and project management of the Theme (to include establishing overview, direction, timelines, output, financial tracking, study scheduling and resource allocation). Working with co-leads you will co-develop and oversee delivery of a research strategy, and propose additional scientific studies in line with the research strategy.

You should have a PhD/DPhil in psychology, psychiatry, neuroscience or other relevant social science/scientific field, with significant post-qualification research management experience. You will have demonstrable experience of strategic development of research teams and research projects. Previous experience of working with young people and/or families/schools is desirable.

Whilst the role is a Grade 9 position, we would also consider candidates with potential but less experience who ae seeking a development opportunity, for which an initial appointment would be at Grade 8 (£48,235-57,255) with the responsibilities adjusted accordingly.

You will be required to upload a supporting statement, a CV, and details of two referees as part of your online application (via the ‘Apply’ button above).

The closing date for this post is 12.00 midday 16 December 2024.
