We are seeking a full-time PDRA to join the systems engineering group at the Department of Engineering Science (central Oxford). The post is funded by EPSRC (via the UK-HyRES programme) and is fixed-term for 18 months, expected to start in February 2025.
You will be part of a research project to explore the potential of gas-solid reactor schemes for decarbonizing industrial and energy systems involving green hydrogen and ammonia. You will be responsible for developing lab-scale reactors and supporting mathematical modelling for optimization and scale-up analysis.
You will possess a PhD (or near completion) in chemical engineering (or a related subject area) with experimental experience in developing multi-phase (ideally gas-solid) chemical reactors. You will benefit from prior experience in mathematical modelling of chemical processes. You should be able to work efficiently within a team.
