About the role
The Department of Education is looking to appoint a post-doctoral researcher to join a program of research led by Professor Cristina McKean.
The post is an exciting opportunity for a postdoctoral researcher to join and support the development of a research programme focussed on early intervention and early life experiences of children with and risk of special educational needs or disabilities (SEND) and the influence of these experiences on outcomes. The core activity of the role will be to identify and analyse secondary data in the UK and internationally to examine drivers of individual differences in education, wellbeing and participation outcomes in children with or at risk of SEND.
The post provides an exciting opportunity to participate in an important programme of work, which ultimately aims to improve the experiences and outcomes of children with communication needs and address issues of equity and representation in research; while gaining excellent research experience and opportunities to collaborate with national and international researchers across seven countries.
The post holder will be supported to develop their own research agenda and lead funding applications to develop this agenda. The post is fixed term for 36 months and is offered on a full-time basis.
Application should be made online and you will be required to upload a CV and supporting statement as part of your application. Applicants are asked to organise the supporting statement by subheadings, explaining how they meet the criteria for this post.
For further details of the role, please see the job descriptions below. The closing date for applications is midday on the 25 November 2024, and only applications received by this deadline will be considered. Interviews will be held soon after the closing date.
