About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Oncology, Oxford University. The successful candidate will join a cutting-edge research programme focused on understanding the cancer biology of the E2F family and its role in immune recognition, with the goal of developing novel cancer vaccines. The research will involve state-of-the-art techniques in molecular, cell biology, and biochemistry, including immunopeptidomics, genome-wide analysis, RNA biology approaches, as well as bioinformatics and genomic technologies. This is an excellent opportunity for a researcher eager to apply their expertise to innovative cancer immunotherapy research.
You will work closely with a dynamic team led by Professor Nicholas La Thangue, a leader in cancer biology research. The role will involve experimental design, execution, and analysis of data using a broad range of cutting-edge techniques, including proteomics, flow cytometry, and fluorescence microscopy. The ability to generate reliable, reproducible scientific results with attention to detail will be crucial.
About You
You will hold a relevant PhD/DPhil (or be close to completion) in cancer biology or a related field, with significant experience in biological, biochemical, and molecular biology research. Ideally, you will have a strong background in gene expression and protein biochemistry, as well as experience in RNA biology. You should be proficient in techniques for studying protein function, including mass spectrometry and proteomics, and have a solid understanding of cell biology methods such as flow cytometry. Experience in bioinformatics and genomic technologies, including the analysis of large-scale genomic datasets, will be highly beneficial.
With a keen attention to detail, you will be able to design and execute experiments with precision, ensuring the collection of accurate and reproducible data. Your ability to maintain well-organised experimental records will be essential, and you will be computer literate with experience in using databases and bioinformatics tools for data analysis. You will also be comfortable working collaboratively, communicating effectively with both internal team members and external collaborators.
