Background
Part of the Marketing & External Relations Department, the Student Recruitment and Marketing team is responsible for planning and executing strategic marketing and recruitment initiatives for both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programmes. This role sits within the Postgraduate and International Marketing team, focused on promoting the postgraduate course portfolio at City St George’s in both UK and international markets. The team’s primary objective is to drive an increase in enquiries, applications, and enrolments, thereby supporting the University’s recruitment targets.
Responsibilities
You will contribute to City St George’s postgraduate marketing initiatives, with a focus on applicant conversion. The role entails working on marketing and communication activities, including email marketing, content creation, CRM, research and insights, recruitment events promotion and web-content. You will work in close collaboration with other Marketing Officers and staff from across the University, with responsibility to implement targeted campaigns aimed at the post-application stage.
Person Specification
The idea candidate will have experience of working in a Higher Education marketing role and possess a robust knowledge of the education sector, including postgraduate recruitment cycle, markets, and the student journey. Experience of working on marketing and communications activities is essential, especially in multi-channel campaigns, email marketing, and content development. The role requires strong organisation, communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent copywriting and proofreading skills and a great eye for detail are required along with the ability to work with limited supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
