We are looking to appoint a Part-time Research Assistant to join the Dementias Platform UK (DPUK) team. DPUK is a partnership between 27 public, private and third sector organisations, with core funding from the Medical Research Council. Based at Oxford University, we bring together expertise from universities, charities, and pharmaceutical and technology companies to enable crucial breakthroughs in dementia research.
The post is based in the Department of Psychiatry and is part-time (20 hours per week).
The post is for a fixed term (funded to 31 December 2025).
You will focus on the Trials Delivery Framework and will have the responsibility to coordinate participants and researchers using the DPUK registers. You will be liaising with study and trial researchers about new studies, management of participant visits, including psychological tests and MRI scanning. You will also assist in the delivery of the Feasibility and Acceptability of Scalable Test for Brain Health study (FAST Brain Health study): Booking participant visits, online or in-person consenting, online or in-person digital cognitive testing, recording of demographics and medical history.
You will have an undergraduate degree in Psychology or other relevant discipline (2:1 or higher) along with a strong interest in cognitive neuroscience or clinical psychology. With the ability to work with patients and older participants, you will have knowledge of research in dementia/cognitive disorders, as well as knowledge of research design and experimental methods. A research background in dementia, neurodegeneration or neuroscience would be desirable, as would data handling experience and an aptitude for statistical analysis.
