Applications are sought for a committed Post-doctoral Research Fellow to work at the Blue Carbon Research Centre (BC-RC), a cross-institutional initiative at the University of St Andrews. The Post-doctoral Research Fellow will work at St Andrews within the Horizon Europe C-BLUES (Carbon Sequestration in Blue Ecosystems) project (with a partner project in the People’s Republic of China) and will have an interest in blue carbon science-policy integration. They will contribute across areas of blue carbon research expertise from one or more of the following work package areas: blue carbon ecosystems, biogeochemical pathways, human impacts, and/or greenhouse gas inventories, in the EU context.
The successful applicant will have a PhD relevant to blue carbon research or should be close to submitting their PhD thesis at the time of application. They should have experience of field, laboratory and in handling blue carbon data, ideally within the EU context. They should also be familiar with the academic literature and policy debates surrounding blue carbon, ideally in the EU context. Excellent communication and time management skills are essential.
The post is available for 24 months starting 1st March 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.
