Saïd Business School, Park End Street, Oxford

The Oxford University Centre for Corporate Reputation is a leading research hub at Oxford University’s Saïd Business School. Our research examines how social evaluations – including reputation, status, celebrity, legitimacy, stigma and trust – affect organisations and individuals globally. We support early-career researchers, doctoral candidates and maintain close connections with an impressive network of international academics, practitioners and esteemed Visiting Fellows from across sectors.

We are seeking an experienced Events Officer to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will plan, execute and elevate a variety of events for the Centre, including high-profile academic conferences, seminars, donor stewardship events, alumni gatherings and ceremonial occasions. Working closely with our Deputy Director, you will help shape the Centre’s engagement strategy, identifying innovative ways to expand our global network and enhance the Centre’s outreach and impact.

This role involves working with a wide array of stakeholders – faculty, researchers, donors, alumni, and external partners – to create memorable, strategically aligned events that reflect the Centre’s high standards. Most events take place in Oxford, with some held in London, Europe and the US.

Key responsibilities:

  • Organise and oversee academic conferences, seminars and bespoke engagement events for alumni and donors, managing event logistics, including venue, catering, transportation and accommodations.
  • Partner with the Deputy Director to create an external engagement strategy to increase the Centre’s impact and outreach.
  • Develop and manage event budgets (circa £200,000 annually), ensuring cost-effective planning and quality.
  • Drive event outreach and promotion strategies to maximise engagement.
  • Conduct evaluations to measure event success and inform future strategies.

You will have a proven track record in organising high-quality, high-profile events with meticulous attention to detail. Strong organisational, project management and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to build effective relationships across diverse internal and external stakeholders. Flexibility for occasional travel and varied working hours is also essential.

You must have the Right to Work within the UK as this position may not amount to enough points under the points-based immigration system in the UK. For more information please visit: https://www.jobs.ox.ac.uk/pre-employment-checks.

  • Hybrid working
  • Membership of the Oxford staff pension scheme
  • Discounted bus travel
  • Subsidised onsite catering
  • Cycle loan scheme
  • Plus, many other University benefits
