Role

De Montfort University (DMU) is seeking an Engagement, Projects and Compliance Officer to play a pivotal role in advancing the university's commitment to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI). This role involves establishing and nurturing relationships while ensuring that DMU remains compliant with UK policy and regulations related to EDI. The Engagement, Projects and Compliance Officer will support, manage, and report on various EDI projects across the university, working closely with the EDI Charters and Awards Lead and the EDI Data, Strategy and Governance Lead to provide a comprehensive and inclusive range of services and support. Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including staff Networks and Student Officers, will be crucial part of this role. Including, developing and coordinating a range of surveys and consultations to assess EDI progress and feedback by ensuring thorough monitoring, analysis and distribution of the data and evidence collected.

In addition to these duties, the postholder will manage projects, action plans, and budgets, work with EDI team members and stakeholders, and deliver reports on group and network activities, including those of EDI Champions. They will respond to compliance-related queries, maintain a schedule of deadlines, attend staff network meetings, and coordinate EDI training and resources. The role also involves supporting equality impact assessments, gathering information for regulatory requests, and working inclusively with the team.
