The International Office at De Montfort University (DMU) plays a vital role in attracting students from around the world to choose DMU for their studies. This office focuses on building relationships with prospective students, educational agents, sponsors and partner institutions globally. It is also pivotal to delivering the universities wider international strategy which has seen DMU international branch campuses established in the UAE, Kazakhstan, Cambodia and soon to be DMU London.
Role
We are seeking a Regional Manager to join our international recruitment team. The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding DMU’s presence in the Sub-Sahara Africa region by developing and executing a regional recruitment strategy for the DMU Leicester campus.
You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to meet ambitious recruitment targets, ensuring De Montfort University is positioned as a leader in higher education in global markets.
You will focus on increasing the number of international students from the region through growth in nominated target markets and will play a leading role in the development and delivery of marketing and recruitment activity to address strategic objectives.
You will be the lead for building effective relationships with stakeholders within the region and take a leading role in supporting the wider internationalisation of DMU. You will also manage a small team based overseas and in Leicester.
The role will necessitate regular international travel, and flexibility in hours will be required for frequent periods of evening and weekend work.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of the current dynamics of international higher education. Understanding the cultural aspects of the Sub Sahara Africa region is advantageous but not essentially.
You will need to be commercially minded and aware of the financial responsibility that student recruitment brings whilst maintaining the best interests of our international students.
Ideally you will have proven track record delivering internationally focused projects and effective marketing campaigns. Innovation is at the heart of everything we do in the International Office, a keen eye for problem solving and improving existing processes, policies and methods is required. You will be comfortable in using data analysis to inform your strategic decision making.
