Tell our research people story in numbers…

The University of Bath is looking for a data analyst, proficient in Excel and Power BI. We want you to help us to understand our people data that describes our research culture and environment. We want you to use that data to help us understand what is really happening rather than what we think might be happening. And we want you to show us, with the data, how the research culture we are building can be evidenced.

This role sits in a unique place in the University of Bath. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Workforce Development in the HR department, you will have full access to all our people data. You will also be embedded in the virtual team that is iteratively developing the People, Culture and Environment statement for our REF 2029 submission. This is the primary focus of your time with us.

…and make a difference for the people you will work with.

We know that we have weaknesses in our data and that we need to develop our ability to move from report generation to developing insights. The second part of your role will be to act as a subject matter expert, supporting your colleagues in the HR Management Information Team in both the development and delivery of the actions that will improve our data quality, and to acquire further confidence and expertise in the use of Power BI to create insights.

About us

Workforce Development sits in the wider HR Department and comprises of small teams focussed on the areas of Learning, Organisational Development, Reward, Academic Promotion and HR Management Information. We have a distinct way of working that enables us to re-organise ourselves around projects, and a clear set of values that underscore how we do what we do.

We describe those values like this: Inclusion [Welcoming difference, Co-creation, Working for and with one-another], Mastery [Knowing our stuff, Making a real difference, Reflective practice] and Integrity [Contracting, Delivering results, Keeping our promises].

If you have read this far, we hope that you are interested in applying.
