Deputy Director of Human Resources

Royal Conservatoire of Scotland

Location: Glasgow, Hybrid
Salary: £50,103 to £56,393
Hours: Full Time
Contract Type: Permanent
Placed On: 25th September 2024
Closes: 7th October 2024

The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland is a world-class centre of excellence in performing arts education, encompassing music, film, performance, dance, production, education and research. Your contribution as the Deputy Director of HR will ensure a first-class service, embedding HR initiatives that promote excellence and best practice.

This is a demanding and challenging role, but it is also incredibly diverse in its activities and rewarding – you will be and will feel a part of the institution. You will work with leaders from across the Conservatoire and will be immersed in the happenings of our departments – we are a small institution, so you’ll get to know people quickly. Being able to establish yourself with credibility and trust will be key. Your advice and guidance will be valued, and your input and leadership in effecting change will be critical to our success.

To thrive in this role, you will enjoy seeing a project through from inception to implementation and be able to switch from long term strategic thinking and action, to ‘in the moment’ problem solving.

This role offers opportunities to take a lead in the strategic development of different strands of our People and Culture plan – this can be shaped to your area of expertise, knowledge and interest.

The Conservatoire is a vibrant and creative place to work, with free tickets to our performances across the year, generous annual leave entitlements and pension schemes, hybrid working, and staff discounts to our short courses and juniors’ programmes.

Our vision is a community that nurtures, supports and celebrates inclusive artmaking from grass roots to world-leading performance and production

Our mission is for our education, engagement, and research in the arts to be the catalyst to shape the future of art forms, artists and society.

Our values are Creative courage; Compassion; Constructive challenge; Curiosity; Craft, rigour and talent; and Community.
