Annual Leave: 25 days pro rata plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious E-Learning Technology Advisor to join the University’s Centre for Learning Access and Student Success (CLASS). Working as part of the Technology Enhanced Learning and Digital Skills team, the successful candidate will support the effective application of technologies across a diverse range of academic programmes, including those that are taught online, as well as on-campus. In addition, the postholder will support our commitment to delivering a wide range of digital skills development opportunities aimed at academic staff and students. In doing so they will help to promote our strategic commitment to delivering high-quality flexible education that transforms lives. 

Main duties and responsibilities

The postholder will provide a high standard of frontline support to academic colleagues seeking guidance on the best practice use of StudyNet (Canvas) and integrated technologies. They will also support the delivery TEL and Digital Skills training sessions, including workshops, drop-ins and bespoke sessions for small or large groups and individuals. In addition, they will be responsible for the collection and management of data relating to training and feedback.

Skills and experience required

The ideal candidate will have an appreciation for technology in higher education and experience of providing excellent frontline technical support. They will also have experience in facilitating or assisting in the delivery of training sessions and the development of guidance materials. Above all they will be committed to delivering an excellent staff and student experience.

Qualifications required

A minimum of a degree or equivalent in Educational Technology, Information Technology, Multimedia or related subject; and/or experience of doing a similar job, ideally in an academic institution.
