One of the largest Colleges within the University of Oxford, St Catherine’s is seeking to appoint a Library Assistant on a fixed-term basis for 12 months. Due to replacement of roof structures within the Library, 10% of the library collection is in the process of being relocated to a temporary library space in college.

The Library Assistant will assist with all aspects of the day-to-day administration and management of this temporary library space, and facilitate the delivery of the highest levels of service to the college’s academic community.
 
The successful candidate will be flexible, positive and enthusiastic, with excellent communication skills. Experience of working in a busy Library environment is desirable, as well as a commitment to meeting the diverse academic needs of our student community.

Tasks in this role include: Opening, closing and invigilating the Library, providing desk cover, issuing, returning and renewing books, resolving readers’ queries, assisting in developing and maintaining OLIS for the Library, analysing book usage records and processing new acquisitions.

The post comprises 35 hours per week, and the salary is within the range £23,700 - £24,533  per annum.
