About the role
This post is funded through Cancer Research Horizons (CRH) and is aimed at delivering on key milestones set out within the grant.
In this role, you will consent cancer patients in accordance with the study protocol and have responsibility for consenting, collecting and processing blood/tissue samples from clinic/theatre. An integral part of the post is the ability to act as the interface with the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust in terms of interactions with the Clinical Care Team/Pathology Department and the collation of clinical data. You will also need to be confident in training staff and students involved in the handling of human tissues and ensure laboratory activities are compliant with regulatory bodies.
About you
We are looking for a proactive individual who is educated to at least ONC or NVQ Level 3 in a technical or scientific setting and is experienced in working with patients or in a health care setting. Experience of working within a quality managed environment is also essential. Desirable attributes include experience in Immunohistochemistry or multiplexed immunofluorescence and having worked on clinical studies and knowledge of regulatory requirements.
