The Opportunity:
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior technical data manager who can support the technical data aspects of the SCADR Scottish Historic Population Platform (SHiPP) programme of work. The candidate will work on the development and application of data cleaning, data processing, data extraction programs and data base management, along with maintaining data relationships with the EPCC Secure Haven Services (SHS) and National Records of Scotland (NRS) teams and ensuring information governance (IG) compliance of the SHiPP project.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. The post is partially a service role and as such there is an expectation of working core hours daily. The role is also front-facing office based, but there may be an opportunity to work hybrid up to two days per week during the months October–March.
Your skills and attributes for success:
Excellent technical problem-solving skills in the areas of databases and Linux systems
Able to develop and deliver technical solutions to manage all data aspects of SHiPP
Demonstrable extensive expertise in programming skills
High level planning and organisational skills
A Bachelor or higher degree (Master's or PhD) in Computer Science or in a related domain
