Hours: Part Time
Contract Type: Fixed-Term/Contract
Placed On: 10th July 2024

About the role

The Horton Library is a small and friendly library and we get to know our readers well. Your duties as library assistant will include: welcoming readers, issuing and returning books, shelving and tidying, registering readers, answering simple library and IT enquiries and referring more complex ones to the Outreach Librarian.

Your duties will also include staffing the Horton Library on your own at times and ensuring the library & other relevant areas in the building are locked up at the end of the day.

This is a part-time, fixed-term position, working 29.2 hours per week until 31 March 2025 due to NHS funding. Your working hours will be within our opening times of 09:00-17:00, Monday-Friday. Your non-working hours will be negotiable but will need to meet the requirements of the service. This role requires regular manual handling and some lone working. Full training will be given.

About You

You will have excellent customer services and communication skills, as well as good general IT skills, including use of email, internet, and general applications such as Microsoft Office. You will also have the ability to work independently and as part of a small team.

Only applications received online by 12.00 midday (BST) on Wednesday 24 July 2024 can be considered. Interviews are expected to take place on Friday 9 August 2024 at the Horton Hospital Library in Banbury.
