Oxford Population Health provides an excellent environment for research and teaching and for professional and support staff. We work together to answer important questions about causes, prevention and treatment of disease.
We are seeking a Laboratory Automation Software Engineer to join a small, friendly team of developers to contribute to the growth and support of our in-house laboratory IT systems. You should be familiar with SQL and at least one programming language, with a relevant degree or equivalent experience, a broad knowledge of automated liquid handling systems, and good communication and problem solving skills. The desire to learn new skills is crucial.
You will work with staff from the Wolfson Laboratory and the LIMS Support Analyst to build relationships with instrument manufacturers to troubleshoot problems. You will be responsible for providing them with IT advice, testing and training support.
This is a full-time post (part-time considered) for two years (in the first instance). You will be expected to work on site for at least 60% of the time.
