Oxford Population Health (the Nuffield Department of Population Health) provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching and for professional and support staff. We work together to answer some of the most important questions about the causes, prevention and treatment of disease.
As a Bioinformatician you will work as part of Professor Lindgren’s group, a world leader in leader in harnessing human genomics to elucidate the causes of obesity, cardiometabolic and reproductive diseases. Your key responsibilities will include contributing to all aspects of projects in the group, from their inception, planning and design, through to the curation, analysis and interpretation of genomic data, and subsequent write-ups for inclusion in manuscripts and presentations.
To be considered, you will hold a BSc in mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering or any other quantitative STEM field(s) with demonstrable experience and ability in biostatistics or bioinformatics through a working knowledge of statistical analysis of genomic data, including genotyping (SNP array) data, and other data related to genome-wide association studies.
The position is full time (part time considered) and fixed term until 30th June 2026. The closing date for applications is noon on 16th August 2024.
