The Department of Archaeology, Classics and Egyptology is seeking to appoint a colleague for two years to a teaching and research post in Ancient History (Greek and/or Roman).
You will be expected to participate in a broad range of teaching primarily aimed at students taking programmes of study in Ancient History, Classics and Classical Studies, and Ancient History and Archaeology. Teaching duties will be in Greek and/or Roman History, and a desirable attribute would be the ability to contribute to the teaching of ancient languages as needed. As well as participating in taught UG and PGT modules, there will also be UG and PGT dissertation supervision. In research, you will be a specialist in any aspect of Ancient History (Greek and / or Roman). You will be an active researcher, will have a demonstrable track record in publishing in their field, plans for significant future research, and the ability and ambition to make applications for substantial research grant funding (which could be interdisciplinary), both as a single researcher and in collaboration with other members of the Department and beyond.
You should have a PhD in a related subject. Good Honours degree or equivalent qualification in a classical subject.
