About the role

This will be a rewarding role for an individual who enjoys spending time with archive material. The major element of work will be planning and undertaking sensitivity review of materials, but you will also contribute to refreshing procedures and documentation that guide this important work, ensuring a consistent approach across the full range of modern archives and manuscripts held at the Libraries, including those of the University itself.

Due to the nature of this post, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check . You will have sound judgment, and discretion, appropriate to work with sensitive materials. You will have strong project management skills, and a flexible approach.

You will have a high degree of digital literacy, and especially in relation to spreadsheets.

You will have experience of working with archives metadata management environments (ideally ArchivesSpace) as well as confidence in reading and interpreting 20th century manuscript documents.
