Faculty / Directorate
The Directorate offers full-service marketing and communications support to the university, comprising brand and creative development; design and print services; corporate and student recruitment marketing campaigns; CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and conversion campaigns; faculty marketing and recruitment; reputation management; media relations and public affairs; internal and external communications engagement; events; admissions, schools and colleges engagement; widening participation; enquiry management and follow up; web and digital development and market insight.
Role
The Project and Administration Assistant is a newly created role which will be crucial in providing project and administrative support to the Marketing and Communications directorate and members of the directorate’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
This role will be key in supporting the SLT across a diverse range of projects and deliverables, ensuring that we are successfully delivering our work in supporting The Empowering University Strategy.
You will help with undertaking research; reviewing data; producing and collating key project documentation and information; implementing project governance and co-ordinating activities to ensure the directorate meets its objectives and deadlines.
The role will also assist in wider administrative duties such as supporting with inbox and diary management; helping with travel and event organisation; setting up and servicing key meetings, including taking meeting notes, supporting on developing key paperwork; as well assisting in producing papers for relevant boards and committees. The role will also particularly help to support areas such as finance, budget management, HR and Health and Safety ensuring these operate smoothly.
You will understand the variety of work across the directorate, and ensure you work collaboratively with colleagues both within, and external, to the directorate to ensure successful delivery. Stakeholder management and relationship building will be an important part of the role.
You will be expected to participate in key institutional events and initiatives as required.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess strong collaboration, communication and organisational skills, with a proven track record of project management.
It is essential that you are able to work collaboratively and possess the ability to successfully develop and manage positive stakeholder relationships, including the ability to influence and negotiate, as required.
You must have strong experience in providing administration support, including diary and inbox management, servicing meetings, assisting on events and drafting and collating papers. You will need to be comfortable with utilising data and insight to inform decision making.
You should feel comfortable working flexibly across a number of activities, with a range of colleagues, as well as being able to work independently, using your own initiative to achieve your objectives. The idea candidate will be diligent and detailed focused, with a pro-active, innovative and positive approach to work.
