The project commenced its second phase of activities in April 2024. The role is an integral part of the Talent 25 team, with the responsibility of post-award record keeping and financial management of the awarded funds in compliance with contracts, legal agreements, and the university's internal policies and procedures. The post holder will also be required to provide high-standard monitoring of the programme finance input and output and compile financial reports.
Role
This is a part-time fixed-term post; the salary shown will be pro rata. The primary purpose of this role is to monitor the Talent 25 research programme's financial spending to highlight any risks, implement a clear action plan, and notify the Programme Manager of the corrective action. This is an integral role in the research team, responsible for the post-award record keeping and financial management of the award in compliance with contracts and legal agreements and the university's internal policies and procedures. The post holder will also be required to provide high-standard monitoring of the programme finance input and output and compile financial reports and responsible for the accuracy of the data in the SAP finance system to ensure data integrity is maintained and the impact of changes on related processes is understood and communicated.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an individual responsible for the accuracy of the data in the SAP finance system to ensure data integrity is maintained and the impact of changes on related processes is understood and communicated. The candidate will also monitor expenditures against project budgets to ensure budget availability and effective resource management, adhering to sponsor terms and conditions. They will be expected to respond to requests for budgetary information, including those relating to the availability of funds left on the project, incidences of expenditure, sponsor conditions, draft reconciliations, and statements of income and expenditure and claims for checking and submission.
