Part of the Library and Support Services directorate, the Global Mobility Office is responsible for delivering the university’s international experience programme for DMU students. With over 23,000 students participating on international opportunities since DMU Global launched in 2014, it has become one of the most comprehensive and innovative international experience programmes at any UK university.
Role
The Student Exchange Officer will oversee the delivery of De Montfort University’s (DMU) student exchange activity within the framework of the Turing Scheme, and support the development and implementation of other international mobility activity at the institution.
The post holder will have responsibility for all aspects of incoming and outgoing student exchange activity including: promotion and engagement; generating and supporting student applications; and ensuring compliance and auditing requirements are fulfilled in relation to external funding. This exciting role involves collaborating with a range of different internal and external stakeholders, whilst providing expertise and guidance to students to facilitate high-quality international experiences.
Ideal Candidate
Educated to degree level, or with equivalent qualifications and experience, the successful candidate will be experienced in working in an international environment with comprehensive knowledge of and experience of managing student exchange programmes (including the Turing Scheme) and wider student internationalisation activities. Providing advice, engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders and an understanding of university admissions processes are all requirements of this role.
Furthermore, the candidate will demonstrate experience of supporting international students and providing a high-quality incoming exchange experience, and will have demonstrable knowledge and interest in the value of overseas opportunities, and intercultural learning. Experience of managing externally funded projects and using financial systems is also desirable.
