Job Summary

We are seeking to appoint a Project Manager within the Imperial Prostate team led by Professor Hashim Ahmed; a group that has an international reputation in this field with regular visitors from Europe and North America to learn research and clinical techniques proposing a change in the prostate cancer diagnosis and therapeutic pathway. We have a portfolio of numerous clinical trials that are either completed or ongoing. 

Duties and responsibilities 

  • You will oversee the administration of the Prostate Cancer UK and NIHR funded TRANSFORM consortium.
  • You will oversee a PCUK and NIHR funded clinical trial and programme of research in screening for prostate cancer called TRANSFORM and will be responsible for all aspects of managing, planning and organisation of all activities and functions of the TRANSFORM consortium.
  • You will coordinate and support multi-disciplinary teams, involving external partners from academia and leading industry organisations. Coordinate the interaction between the research centres that comprise internal academic departments and external research partners. 

Essential requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in biomedical/scientific field.
  • Postgraduate qualification or equivalent in a similar subject.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Proven experience in stakeholder management, project planning and dissemination.
  • Previous experience of project management in an academic organisation.
  • Experience in facilitating workshops and conferences.
  • Evidence of strong IT literacy (MS Office, graphics and video editing software).
  • Experience in translating research and policy requirements into a defined project.
  • Experience in developing and managing multi-disciplinary projects, involving external and internal partners.
  • Experience of working within the NHS and/or academic clinical research setting.
  • Proven experience in coordinating prostate cancer trials.
  • Previous experience in liaising with external bodies including industry.

This post is full-time, fixed term for 3 years and you will be based at Hammersmith Campus.
