The role:

  • 25-30 Hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide one-to-one or small group support under lecturer direction as appropriate in the classroom setting.
  • To assist in the manual handling of students with personal care requirements in accordance with the individual care plan.
  • To assist with the development of learners’ literacy and numeracy skills.
  • To assist with the pastoral care needs of learners and to direct learners to other college support mechanisms as necessary.
  • To provide learners with help in understanding oral and written instruction.
  • To assist with the co-ordination of learners’ work, record keeping and progress through liaison with lecturing and support staff at all levels within the College.
  • To attend and participate in learner reviews and team meetings as required.
  • To support learners with the use of assistive technology and specialist software and actively promote its use.

About you:

  • Maths and English GCSE A-C grade or equivalent
  • Recent experience of working with learners with educational support needs.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the needs of students with additional learning needs/learning difficulties.
  • Excellence interpersonal and communication skills
  • One to one and group support skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills, both in person and virtually online.

  • Cynorthwyo i godi a chariot myfyrwyr sydd ag anghenion gofal personol yn unol a’r cynllun gofal unigol.
  • Helpu gyda datblygiad sgiliau rhifedd a llythrennedd dysgwyr.
  • Help gydag anghenion gofal bugeiliol dysgwr ac arwain dysgwyr at fecanweithiau cefnogi eraill yn y coleg fel sy’n angenrheidiol.
  • I roi cymorth i ddysgwyr ddeall cyfarwyddiadau llafar ac ysgrifenedig.
  • I helpu gyda chydlynu gwaith dysgwyr, cadw cofnodion a chynnydd drwy drafod gyda staff darlithio a staff cefnogi ar bob lefel yn y Coleg.
  • I fynychu a chymryd rhan mewn adolygiadau dysgwr a chyfarfodydd tîm fel sy’n ofynnol.
  • I gynnal cyfrinachedd y wybodaeth a roddir am ddysgwyr unigol/neu gan ddysgwyr unigol yn unol â pholisi a gweithdrefnau’r Coleg.
  • I gefnogi dysgwyr wrth ddefnyddio technoleg gynorthwyol a meddalwedd arbenigol a hyrwyddo defnyddio’r rhain yn weithredol.
  • I gefnogi dysgwyr y tu allan i’r ystafell ddosbarth fel sy’n ofynnol e.e. ar dripiau Coleg, mewn mannau cyhoeddus, yn ystod egwyl cinio ac ar deithiau fel sy’n angenrheidiol.
