We are looking to expand our team with inspirational academics who have a passion for delivering high-quality learning experiences along with substantial accounting experience gained through teaching, relevant industry experience or both.
We would expect you to have strong technical skills, an understanding of developments within the accountancy and finance sector and a solid understanding of finance, accounting, economics and banking.
You will combine well-developed and current knowledge and understanding of critical, practical, and theoretical issues relevant to our courses, with a passion for inspiring, motivating and challenging students to achieve their potential.
You will have the ability to deliver innovative, high quality, vibrant and challenging learning experiences.
The Finance and Economics Division is a team of more than 30 staff who have a variety of academic, professional and business-related backgrounds. We offer a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses.
Some of our courses attract exemptions from UK professional accountancy, finance and banking bodies which is represented in the quality of our syllabus and assessment.
In addition, our Division also supports The Business School through teaching on a range of modules including MBA, finance for non-finance specialists and performance measurement and evaluation modules. These modules are delivered at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as teaching elements of a variety of bespoke and CPD courses and apprenticeship programmes to clients such as Morrisons, Nestle and Clipper.
We offer a diverse range of benefits and opportunities to pursue a rewarding and fulfilling career in a supportive environment.
You will be contractually enrolled into the Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS) – one of the largest and most generous defined benefit pension schemes in the country.
If you are, or have been, a recent member of the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) directly prior to joining us, you can choose to opt out of the TPS and remain in the USS. Please contact the Pensions team to discuss options available.
The role is not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route so if you are an international applicant, you will need to ensure you have an appropriate visa to evidence the necessary right to work in the UK.
