Reporting to the Director of the Oxford Future of Marketing Initiative (FOMI), Professor Andrew Stephen, the post holder will be a member of the FOMI research group alongside faculty members and FOMI Postdoctoral researchers. The post holder will be responsible for supporting a collaborative research project with the Institute for Real Growth (IRG) and Google called “Marketing2030.” This will involve working closely with the IRG team’s Marketing2030 leader Cindy Tervoort, (Former CMO of Heineken and Britvic) to help coordinate and conduct research (desk research and decoding vision interviews) that will inform the Marketing2030 project’s findings and recommendations.
The Marketing2030 project aims to identify the marketing strategies, structures, and capabilities required to drive sustained business growth and win in the future. The intention is for this seminal study to deliver highly influential, original, and pioneering insights for marketing practitioners, provoke and guide industry discussions on the future of marketing globally, and will leverage the IRG’s marketing networks and ecosystem to develop strategic and practical guidance for marketing professionals and leaders around the world.
Given the collaborative nature of this project between Oxford Saïd (FOMI), IRG, and Google, the postholder will be expected to work across these organisations. Within Oxford Saïd, the postholder will be a member of the School’s wider research community and have access to internal research seminars and other professional development programmes. Within IRG, the postholder will have the opportunity to work alongside members of the IRG team and participate in relevant IRG events.
The ideal candidate for this role will have an applied research experience (at least Masters level and/or equivalent industry research experience) and a proactive approach to learning new skills. Experience working on academic research that has an applied, practice-focused orientation will be an advantage.
