The University of Glasgow has been changing the world since 1451. It is the fourth oldest university in the English-speaking world and has consistently been at the forefront of innovation, transforming lives and delivering world-changing impact for almost 600 years. We are delighted to rank in the top 100 of universities worldwide in both the Times Higher Education and QS World University Rankings.
Despite the institution’s unique history and firmly established reputation for excellence, Glasgow remains strongly focused on the future, investing in infrastructure and people to be the home of the world changers of today and tomorrow.
The Daniel Jack Chair in Economics at the University of Glasgow is a prestigious professorship named after economist Daniel Thomson Jack (1901–1984). Daniel Jack, a University of Glasgow alumnus, made significant contributions to economic policy.
The Adam Smith Business School is seeking an international research leader to fulfil this strategic position, including leading the School’s contribution to the ESRC’s Productivity Institute.
The successful candidate will undertake a senior leadership role by conducting internationally leading applied economics research, delivering research-led education and demonstrating excellence in teaching that supports the strategic objectives and priorities of the Adam Smith Business School and College of Social Sciences, in line with the University’s ambitions.
