About us
UCL Careers provides careers education to current students, graduates and staff of UCL, as well as recruitment solutions for employers. UCL Careers provides a ‘core’ service for students as well as bespoke support within some academic areas, including UCL’s School of Management (SoM).
About the role
This is a new Careers Consultant job with a Finance specialism. Many UCL School of Management students aspire to work in the financial sector, with some choosing to study specialist programmes like MSc Finance, the MSc Management (Finance pathway), or one of the new programmes: MSc Finance with Data Science or MSc Strategic Accounting and Finance (online), which are launching in September 2025.
In this job you'll form part of a team of Careers Consultants and Employer Engagement professionals, to plan and deliver a comprehensive Careers and Professional Development Programme. This includes a mix of workshops, seminars, 1:1 coaching and application support, ensuring that every student has access to personal, bespoke support on their own unique Careers journey, and the ability to excel in the recruitment process.
A full range of duties can be found on the attached job description.
About you
For this job we are looking for people with a passion for coaching/mentoring, and who have experience of supporting the career development of others. Having experience of careers work in Higher Education, as well as in one or more of the target sectors (Finance, Fintech or Accountancy), or significant experience and working knowledge of financial services gained from a similar role in another university or business school is essential for this specialist role.
The UCL Careers’ School of Management team are constantly challenging themselves to develop and be better in order to deliver sector-leading Careers support. We are looking for people who share a similar commitment to professional excellence, and who thrive on being part of a busy, collaborative team.
Please review the attached job description, paying particular attention to the essential and desirable criteria, and ensure these are covered in your job application.
