About the role
The department of Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment is looking to appointment a Secondary PGCE Partnerships Leader. The successful candidate will be responsible for building, developing, sustaining and quality assuring the strong school and college partnerships that underpin the quality of the Secondary PGCE. This will involve working with a Lead Placement Mentor in each partner school, a small team of IOE-based University Partnership Leads, and being part of the Secondary PGCE’s leadership team.
The postholder will have experience and knowledge of working in, and leading, teacher education in schools, through the mentoring of student teachers, professional development of mentors and the co-ordination of student teacher placements in a range of subjects. This role would be particularly suitable for someone with existing senior leadership experience within schools, colleges and/or higher education and who wishes to extend this leadership portfolio further.
Interviews are currently scheduled to take place in the week beginning 12th May.
It is expected that the post will commence on 01 August 2025.
This post is on a part-time basis (.40FTE/ 14.60 hours per week) and is on an open – ended contract.
Due to the nature of the duties, a DBS check will be required.
About you
The successful candidate will have a first degree and Qualified Teacher Status, alongside evidence of ongoing professional development (e.g., Masters' degree or NPQLTD). You will have experience of teaching successfully in schools and of contributing to Initial Teacher Education (ITE) and have a sound working knowledge of PGCE programmes, including the Secondary PGCE (and/or other initial teacher education programmes). You will have experience of analysing and interpreting a range of data to support programme development.
In addition, you will have an effective project management and organisational skills and the ability to co-ordinate partnership aspects of a highly complex programme, working with multiple stake holders.
