We are presenting an opportunity to join the Aeronautical and Automotive Engineering Department within the School of Aeronautical, Automotive, Chemical and Materials Engineering as a University Teacher. This role has a focus on engineering design for aeronautical or automotive systems, from conceptualisation through design evaluations to final product development. A distinctive strength of our programmes lies in our industry-aligned design modules so relevant industrial experience will be considered a strong asset.

Our Aeronautical and Automotive Engineering activities in research and teaching address global issues including sustainable aviation, net zero transport, autonomous and intelligent systems, systems reliability and health management, mechanics and dynamics. Our centres of excellence include the National Centre for Combustion and Aerothermal Technology (NCCAT) and the Caterpillar Innovation and Research Centre (focussing on powertrains research), as well as a new National Wind Tunnel Facility (currently in development). We also benefit from access to the recent £5.8m investment at Loughborough University in Digilabs, an exciting array of learning spaces and technology resources such as XR facilities including VR/AR headsets, GPU workstations, robotics, 3D immersive wall and 3D motion tracking.
