You will be a key part of our Building Services team, working across all Biology buildings, but based mainly in the department’s premises on Mansfield Road and South Parks Road. You will, on occasion, be required to work at our other sites including the Field Station at Wytham and the WildCRU buildings in Tubney.
Your role will be to provide support and assistance in all matters relating to the day-to-day maintenance, repairs and servicing of the department’s buildings equipment and facilities, including administrative duties, reception cover, assisting Intake and helping to deliver events. Working safely will be embedded throughout the role, and you will act as a fire warden and first aider (training will be provided as required).
You will be required to work outside core working hours, on request in order to provide cover for business-critical services and/or department events.
You will have previous experience in building maintenance including small projects and conversant with Health and safety legislation. You must have a flexible approach to work along with ability to use own initiative and work safely and effectively when unsupervised in a busy environment. Strong literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to GCSE and a knowledge of Microsoft Office are essential for this post, as is experience of working in a customer focused environment.
This post is full time (although applications to work 80% of full time are welcome) and available immediately.
