Applications are invited for a temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 2 (Passive Seismic Geophysical Methods) within UCD School of Civil Engineering.
We wish to appoint an experienced Post-Doctoral Researcher with a strong background in engineering seismology, with expertise on the use of passive seismic methods, ideally with a focus on near-surface geotechnical applications. The successful candidate will work on the GEOMETRIC (GEOphysics and Machine learning for Evaluating Transportation Infrastructure Condition) project (www.sfi.ie/challenges/sustainable-communities-challenge/GEOMETRIC). This project is funded by Research Ireland, under the National Challenge Fund Programme. This overall aim of the project is to develop an approach, using Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) of fibre-optic cables, to enable real-time monitoring of transport infrastructure slopes.
