Due to the expansion of research activities within AMIIC, a new opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Research Nurse or Clinical Research Practitioner. The successful candidate will join our dedicated research team in AMIIC, working alongside the multi-disciplinary clinical team of radiographers, nurses, physiologists and healthcare assistants. Good team working is the key to our success, so excellent communication skills with the desire and ability to form positive working relationships are essential to this post.
The role will require the Research Nurse/CRP to be involved in and often lead on the identification, screening, recruitment and consent of patients to become research participants, as well as the practical aspects of research activity, including accurate data and sample collection. They will also assist with the set-up and coordination of new studies and be responsible for aspects of day to day and ongoing study governance, with support as required.
The successful candidate, whilst focussed on research activities and being an employee of the University of Oxford, will work in a department that provides a highly patient orientated, clinical service for the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We require someone who will enjoy working in a friendly, cutting-edge environment as part of a team spanning 'both' University of Oxford and NHS departments.
You are required to be a Registered Nurse; entry on part 1 (adult) of the NMC register (please state PIN number, NMC entry date and revalidation date) or a Clinical Research Practitioner, with registration on the Clinical Research Practitioner Register at the AHCS (please state AHCS registration date and re-accreditation date). Previous experience as a Research Nurse or Clinical Research Practitioner is essential, previous involvement in clinical research trials would be desirable.
This is a full-time appointment on a fixed term contract for 1 year in the first instance (may be extended depending on funding), and you will be based in the Acute Multidisciplinary Imaging and Intravascular Centre, Oxford Heart Centre, John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.
