About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Events Officer to oversee the delivery of commercial events and other enterprises at the Botanic Garden and Arboretum, delivered through fairs and a variety of programmes of activity at both sites.
You will support the Head of Operations to maximise commercial revenue for the department and will be required to work across both sites on a regular basis. You will be self-motivated to proactively schedule, plan and deliver all fairs and commercial events. You will liaise closely with all colleagues across both sites of the Department, as well as external suppliers.
This is a permanent, full-time post, working 36.5 hours per week.
This role includes a moderate amount of physical activity, including lifting and moving objects – all necessary health and safety training will be provided.
Occasional weekend and evening working is required.
About You
You will be educated to a minimum of A-level standard or equivalent.
You should have a strong background and experience of sales and events management and be a supportive, enthusiastic and well-informed communicator; with proven success in planning and delivering commercial programmes and interest in achieving sales targets.
You will have cash-handling/financial experience, e.g. retail tills, electronic sales.
Experience in planning and coordinating projects is also essential.
