This KTP project aims to innovate the business model of a Birmingham-based, industry-leading manufacturer specializing in material handling equipment. The company seeks a KTP Associate to apply business model innovation techniques and international marketing research to create solution-oriented offerings for global markets.

This role provides an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, growth-driven company. Located near Birmingham’s city center, the position requires strong work ethic, creativity, and autonomy, enabling the Associate to lead impactful initiatives.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will be qualified to MSc level, preferably with a BSc in industrial or mechanical engineering, followed by an MSc or MBA with modules in international marketing and business model innovation.

Skills/Experience Required:

Essential:

  • Business model innovation frameworks
  • B2B sales and marketing techniques
  • International marketing methodologies
  • Strategic change management in complex environments
  • Stakeholder engagement to drive business growth

Desirable:

  • Substantive industrial experience in international marketing, global branding, or business model innovation.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Redesigning value propositions using business model innovation frameworks
  • Redesigning value networks with appropriate tools
  • Conducting international competitor analysis
  • Market segmentation and strategy development for international markets
  • Managing supply chain relationships
  • Embedding knowledge and frameworks within the organization
  • Promoting entrepreneurial thinking

You will work with a team from Aston University, including Dr. Reza Marvi, Dr. Wendy Tabrizi, Dr. Geoff Parkes, Dr. Antonio Masi, and Mr. Ian McKechnie, as well as the Senior Management Team of the company.

Location:

Based in Central Birmingham, with access to Aston University facilities and some required travel to key clients.
