The London Center for The College of Global Studies is seeking to appoint an Adjunct Lecturer for a first year, fall semester course commencing early September 2025: MATH 110 Elementary Statistics.
Approximately 150 - 200 US university students participate each semester on Arcadia’s programmes delivered through our London Center. We host first year students each year, and this course will have a mix of freshman and sophomore students enrolled. The adjunct lecturer reports to the Associate Director of Academic Affairs.
This first-year, introductory course covers the principles and techniques of statistics, including descriptive and inferential statistics, with the required use of Microsoft Excel as teaching tool. Classification of data, probability theory, measures of central tendency, measures of dispersion, normal distribution, population parameters, testing hypotheses, analysis of variance, and correlation and regression are among the topics to be covered.
The course will be taught over two 1.5 hour blocks per week over 12 teaching weeks with a mid semester reading week at the Arcadia London Center in Holborn. Specific hours to be confirmed with the appointed lecturer; flexibility around scheduling is required.
