Annual Leave: 35 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: College Lane Campus, Hatfield 

The International Office provides an incredibly varied and passionate working environment, where no two days are the same. We are looking for a talented and proactive person who will provide high level insights, support and operational direction for the University of Hertfordshire’s internationalisation strategy, including effective partnership development and international student recruitment. 

Main duties and responsibilities

The Deputy Director will input and operationalise implementation of the university’s international recruitment and partnership strategy, whilst playing a key role in helping shape and deliver the university’s overall international strategic plan, In line with the university’s 2025 – 2030 Strategy, the Deputy Director will be integral in increasing the international student community and will explore new opportunities to push the internationalisation impact the university is making.

Skill and experience required

You will have a proven track record of delivering results in international higher education particularly in terms of international recruitment and partnerships. With a deep knowledge of global market issues, the post holder will have significant leadership experience within a complex environment and possess the ability to build credible and long term relationships with all University stakeholders, students and international partners. You will have the ability to be decisive, especially when under pressure. Outstanding presentation and networking skills are essential in addition to high-level ambassadorial and communication skills. 

Qualifications required

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have substantial relevant work experience.
