About the role
The Caribbean Oxford Initiative (CaribOx) is a new visiting fellowship and travel grant programme designed to stimulate purposeful and long-lasting collaboration between researchers from institutions in the Caribbean and the University of Oxford. This role is responsible for the executive administrative management of the initiative. It will provide all aspects of administrative support including the development and implementation of an ongoing operational plan. The postholder will be responsible for administering, monitoring, and reporting on the funding awarded by the project for specific activities, as well as providing practical support for awardees.
The role will also involve maintaining international relationships and researching new potential links with external partners across the Caribbean as well as collaborators within all divisions of Oxford University. It will also involve leading on communications for the initiative, including a website and social media. It will also support an academic steering group and advisory board.
About you
This post offers the opportunity for very varied work across a range of skill sets. The successful applicant will have excellent written communication skills with an eye for detail and creative flair. They will need a proven ability to deliver and manage successful projects including finances with a high level of administrative skills. Excellent interpersonal skills will be needed to network and deal effectively with a wide range of people. This will include building connections across the wider University as the schemes will be open to all disciplines.
