UWE Bristol has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced researcher to join our Same Day Urgent Care (SURGE) Workforce Research Partnership.
The SURGE team, led by senior researchers from UWE Bristol, is formed of co-applicants from 13 organisations, including a range of Universities and NHS institutions.
We build on pre-existing successful collaborations investigating a variety of workforce issues including the integration of emerging roles in primary care; General Practitioners in Emergency Departments; general practice composition and performance; and first response services in rural communities, using a range of methodologies including realist evaluations, systematic reviews, scheduling and data forecasting, surveys and mixed methods research. Our partnership has been funded by NIHR Health and Social Care Delivery Research Programme for 5 years to undertake cutting edge research investigating the Same Day Urgent care workforce.
You’ll be supporting the delivery of the SURGE partnership work programs 1-3. This will involve mixed methods approaches and will include mapping current service provision; literature reviews; stakeholder engagement; and a variety of primary data collection projects.
You’re a self-motivated individual with prior experience in a variety of health services research methods and approaches, with particular emphasis on NHS project experience. This is a key role within the research study team, and you’ll be responsible for liaising with other partner institutions to co-ordinate work plans. This will involve contributing to protocol development; obtaining ethical approvals; data collection and analysis; and report writing and dissemination.
You can work on your initiative, seeking guidance and advice where necessary from the Chief Investigators, Partnership Manager and the Study Management Group. You’re well organised, possess strong communication skills and have the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
This post is based at our Glenside Campus which is set within beautiful grounds in Stapleton, just three miles north east of Bristol City Centre.
We offer a wide range of employee benefits including progressive pay rates, generous annual leave and career average pension schemes as well as retail savings, onsite nursery and opportunities for training and personal development.
We particularly encourage applications from global majority candidates as we are currently under-represented in this area of the organisation, however all appointments are made strictly on individual merit.
