Fixed term: 12 months
We are looking for a Research Fellow to help deliver a large-scale single cell molecular QTL discovery programme supported by £5M of UKRI funding as part of the Edinburgh Molecular Mechanisms Cluster.
This 1-year post will be based at the Roslin Institute and the Pandemic Science Hub (PSH; https://psh.ac.uk/) at the Institute for Regeneration and Repair.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns.
We have shown that molecular quantitative trait loci (molQTL) can reveal specific molecular mediators, cell types and states underlying disease, and lead directly to new, effective therapies. The Molecular Mechanisms Cluster (MMC) will systematically study single cells from primary human tissues, across a range of perturbation states, to reveal the molecular con- sequences of disease-associated genetic variation. This cross-cutting project combines precise laboratory techniques with advanced computational modelling.
The holder of this post will conduct laboratory studies using ex vivo clinical samples to help map molQTL in these disease-relevant clinical tissues.
