Postdoctoral Research Associate - University of Edinburgh Careers

We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled scientist to contribute to the development of spatially-resolved 14C measurement techniques by mass spectrometry.

EPSRC-funded research.

The Opportunity:

This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge research involving the development and optimisation of spatially-resolved 14C mass spectrometry. The role will focus on implementing and refining novel techniques, operating advanced instrumentation, and delivering high-quality data to support the project’s objectives. You will join a dynamic and collaborative research environment, contributing to innovative scientific advancements with real-world impact.

Your skills and attributes for success: 

  • Strong background in mass spectrometry, analytical chemistry, physics or a related field.
  • Experience with instrumentation development, optimisation, and maintenance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on complex technical challenges.
  • Proven ability to analyse, interpret, and report experimental data accurately.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience in collaborating across disciplines or presenting research findings.
