Applications are invited from motivated individuals to work on an exciting interdisciplinary Wellcome Trust-funded project to investigate pathogen-commensal-host interactions of the human pathogen, Clostridioides difficile.
The overall aim of this project is to decipher the molecular pathways that determine C. difficile interactions with gut commensals, using innovative in vitro models.
About You
A motivated scientist with demonstrated excellence in research, as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications in a relevant subject. You will have a PhD (or working towards a PhD) in microbiology, cell biology or a related subject with excellent expertise in molecular and cellular microbiology. Prior experience in anaerobic microbiology and experience with omic approaches is strongly preferred. You will have strong research potential and be able to work well within a research team.

If you are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD but have not yet had it conferred, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant at the top of level 5 of the University grade structure. Upon receipt of evidence of the successful award of your PhD, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of level 6 of the University grade structure.
