About the Role
For informal enquiries, please contact Jayne Baker (Interim Director of HR Shared Services) at Jayne.Baker.1@warwick.ac.uk.
The University of Warwick is looking for an experienced Head of People Partnering & Advisory to lead a high-performing People Operations team dedicated to providing a seamless, expert advisory service across the University. In this pivotal role, you will manage and support a team of People Advisors, overseeing case management and handling complex people-related matters with a focus on resolving cases efficiently and in line with best practice.
As Head of People Partnering & Advisory, you will play a critical role in ensuring the consistent and fair application of People policies and processes, acting as an escalation point for more complex or sensitive issues. Your leadership will be key to shaping a team culture that is positive, inclusive, and aligned with the University’s values. You will collaborate with senior leaders across the People function, including Strategic People Partners and Employee Relations, to maintain high service standards and to drive continuous improvement in the delivery of People services.
You’ll have the opportunity to shape the future of People Operations, providing expert guidance and leadership while promoting the development of a high-performing team, and driving the University’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in all aspects of People management.
About You
The ideal candidate for this role will be a strategic and empathetic leader with significant experience in People Operations, including case management, people advisory services, and team management. You will have a strong understanding of People policies, conditions of employment, recruitment, and employee relations, and the ability to handle complex and sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.
You will bring a proven track record in leading teams, offering pastoral care, and driving performance management, talent development, and succession planning. Your ability to collaborate across functions, particularly with Strategic People Partners, will be crucial in ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency in service delivery. Additionally, you will be passionate about fostering an inclusive culture and embedding DEI principles within all People processes and practices.
If you are a collaborative leader with a focus on service excellence, people development, and operational effectiveness, we would like to hear from you.
