We are seeking to recruit a skilled postdoctoral research assistant for a Leverhulme Trust 12-month post to build upon work carried out in the Elliott group on the photophysics of photosensitiser complexes based on Earth's abundant transition metal elements.
The Department of Physical & Life Sciences is well-equipped and established for frontier research in the chemical sciences with research dedicated instrumentation, including three NMR spectrometers and an X-ray diffraction suite.
You will carry out research, as well as general laboratory and research group management duties to enable the completion of this Leverhulme Funded project.
With a Doctoral qualification, you will have significant expertise in the organic and inorganic synthesis of complexes, in particular in the synthesis of 1,2,3-triazole-based ligands and their complexes. You must also have good experience in photophysical characterisation of compounds, including UV-visible-NIR absorption and luminescence spectroscopy and time-correlated single photon counting, as well as electrochemical characterisation by cyclic voltammetry.
