The role

The University of Exeter Law School is one of the UK’s leading law schools with an international reputation for world-leading research and teaching. Situated in the beautiful Streatham campus, the Law School has a strong tradition in EU law and socio-legal studies.

The Law School is entering an exciting phase of expansion and future-facing growth. As part of this growth, we are keen to appoint a Senior Lecturer (Education and Scholarship) with primary expertise in the area of French law.

You will have responsibility for the design, development and production of teaching and learning material and delivery predominantly in the area of French law. You will be teaching in French in the area of French law (constitutional law, administrative law, contract law) so as to effectively contribute to our prestigious programme LLB English Law and French Law -Master 1 (Maitrise en droit). You will work to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of teaching programmes in accord with the Faculty’s education strategy and implementing the External Affairs strategy. You will also contribute directly to foundation teaching in one or more of the discipline areas in the Faculty and to the development and implementation of innovative teaching practices across the Faculty.

About you

For a Senior Lecturer post you will:

  • Possess a depth or breadth of specialist knowledge demonstrated by a PhD in law, or equivalent, of the core knowledge relating to law in order to teach and support learning on academic area modules.
  • Have a consistent track record of excellent teaching across a variety of modules and levels within your discipline as might be expected of a very experienced HE Teacher.
  • Contribute to the design, development and delivery a range of modules or programmes at various levels; applying innovative and appropriate teaching techniques; identifying sources of funding and securing funds for own scholarly activities and providing academic leadership to those working within programme areas.
  • Be expected to work towards Principle Fellow of the HEA and to attend formal CPD relating to this.
