Annual Leave: 30 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: College Lane Campus, Hatfield

Main duties and responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated IT professional with a strong track record in managing Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) infrastructure. Working as part of a highly skilled team, you will support the technical administration and maintenance of our enterprise Oracle BI platform (OAS and WebLogic).

Skill and experience required 

You will have substantial proven practical expertise and experience in supporting large corporate systems and applications in a large enterprise networked environment at an appropriate level of responsibility, with a proven knowledge of Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) Administration. The ability to resolve problems related to the installation, recommended maintenance and use of Oracle products, specifically Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) and Oracle WebLogic Server is essential for this role. You will have a good understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems and possess the ability to maintain standards for implementing and managing technology stacks to ensure system architecture, and related systems provide user functionality, supportability, and reliability. 

This role requires you to have a good understanding of information security principles and best practice, alongside expertise in managing system performance, monitoring for issues, and system parameter tuning. You will have a good understanding of the systems and services required to support learning, teaching, research and university business and administration requirements, facilitated by practical IT skills and familiarity with common computing applications. 

You will possess a high standard of spoken and written English language, good communication skills, interpersonal, persuasion and negotiating skills, alongside a high standard of customer care and an appropriate manner in dealing with a range of different stakeholders. Self-motivation, initiative and patience is crucial for this role. You will have strong analytical, problem-solving and product management skills, the ability to develop a sound understanding of an organisation’s business requirements and awareness of departmental relationships.

You must be able to work calmly and systematically in a busy environment, prioritise, and exercise good time management and organisational skills and to meet deadlines. Motivating others and working effectively in a team is vital, as well as the ability to work effectively in a matrix management situation.   

Qualifications required

Educated with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in computing or proven experience at a professional level or equivalent expertise and experience.
